Not a Fit Dallas TX

We’re a mobile mechanic service, and that means we’re the right call for a lot of situations, but not every job. Here’s where we can help, and where you’re better off with a shop.

Jobs That Need a Shop Lift or Alignment Rack

Some repairs genuinely require equipment we can’t bring to your driveway. A full wheel alignment needs an alignment rack. Major suspension work that requires lifting the whole vehicle safely off the ground for an extended period is usually better suited to a shop with a proper lift.

Major Engine or Transmission Teardown

A full engine rebuild or a transmission that needs to come out of the car entirely is a multi-day job that needs a shop bay, not a driveway or parking lot. We can diagnose the problem and tell you honestly if this is what you’re facing.

Dealership-Only Warranty Work

If your vehicle is still under a manufacturer warranty and the repair needs to go through the dealership to stay covered, we’ll tell you that upfront rather than doing work that could affect your warranty status.

What We Do Instead

For any of the situations above, we’ll give you an honest diagnosis and point you toward the right next step, whether that’s a specific type of shop or your dealership. And for everything else, batteries, brakes, alternators, starters, A/C, radiators, electrical issues, and more, we come to you and get it done on the spot.

Bodywork, Paint, and Glass

Collision repair, paint work, dent removal, and windshield replacement fall outside what a mobile mechanic handles. These jobs need specialized equipment and a controlled environment that a driveway or parking lot can’t provide, so we’ll point you toward a body shop or glass specialist for these.

Extensive Rust or Frame Damage

A vehicle with significant rust damage to the frame or undercarriage, more common in vehicles that spent time in states that use heavy road salt before coming to Texas, often needs structural work beyond a standard repair. We’ll let you know if we spot this during a diagnostic visit.

Heavy-Duty and Commercial Trucks

Our standard mobile mechanic service is built around personal vehicles, pickup trucks, and light work trucks. Semi trucks, 18-wheelers, and other heavy commercial vehicles need specialized heavy-duty service, and we route those requests to a dedicated heavy-truck partner rather than trying to handle them with standard equipment.

Recalls and Manufacturer Software Updates

Some issues are addressed through a manufacturer recall or a software update that only the dealership can perform, particularly on newer vehicles with complex onboard computer systems. If your issue looks like it might be tied to an open recall, we will let you know so you can check with your dealership at no cost to you.

None of this is meant to discourage you from calling. If you are not sure whether your issue fits what we handle, the fastest way to find out is to just call and describe the problem. We would rather have that conversation than have you guess wrong and waste time.

FAQ

Will you tell me honestly if a job isn’t right for a mobile mechanic?

Yes. We’d rather point you in the right direction than take on a job we can’t do properly in the field.

Can you still diagnose a problem even if you can’t do the full repair?

In most cases yes. We can often identify the issue on-site even if the actual repair needs shop equipment.

Do you work on all car brands?

We handle most makes and models. Call and tell us your vehicle and the issue, and we’ll let you know if it’s something we can do.
