Serving Casa View

Casa View is a residential neighborhood in northeast Dallas, located near White Rock Lake and closely associated with the adjoining Casa Linda neighborhood. According to the Greater Casa View Alliance, the area is bordered by Buckner Boulevard, Garland Road, Interstate 635, and Oates Drive out toward the Mesquite city line.

The neighborhood has a distinctive architectural claim to fame: it holds the largest concentration in Texas of mid-century modern homes designed by architect Cliff May. In the 1960s and 1970s, the neighborhood’s hub of activity was the Casa View Shopping Center, anchored by a Sears store that opened in 1956 and later a J.C. Penney. Casa View was also home to the dance studio where Texie Waterman selected and coached the original Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who made their debut during the 1972-73 football season.

Casa View’s population and character have shifted over the decades, moving from a mostly white, Protestant and Catholic community in the 1960s to a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood by the early 2010s. In 2016, D Magazine named it one of five Dallas neighborhoods on the rise, citing its growing momentum as its own distinct identity separate from Casa Linda.

Common Issues We See Near Casa View

Because Casa View has a large stock of mid-century homes with original driveways and carports, we see plenty of battery and starter calls, along with maintenance work for vehicles that regularly commute along Buckner Boulevard or Garland Road.

Local Landmarks Worth Knowing

The Casa View Shopping Center along Buckner Boulevard is a longstanding landmark in the neighborhood, even though its original anchor stores have changed over the decades. Garland Road and the stretch toward White Rock Lake are also useful reference points, especially if you’re closer to the Casa Linda side of the neighborhood than the Casa View core.

The neighborhood’s cluster of Cliff May-designed homes gives Casa View a visual identity unlike most other parts of Dallas, with long, low rooflines and carports that were considered cutting-edge when they were built in the mid-20th century. Many of those original carports and driveways haven’t been substantially altered since, which is worth mentioning when you call so we know what kind of access to expect.

Casa View’s proximity to both Garland Road and Buckner Boulevard means many residents rely on this neighborhood as a through-route toward downtown or White Rock Lake, adding extra daily mileage that shows up as routine maintenance needs over time.

Casa View’s shift from a mostly white, Protestant and Catholic community in the 1960s to a majority Hispanic neighborhood by the 2010s has also brought a wave of small, family-run businesses to the area, adding character to Buckner Boulevard and the surrounding commercial strips even as the neighborhood’s mid-century housing stock has stayed largely intact.

Why Call a Mobile Mechanic Near Casa View

Casa View’s mid-century streets weren’t designed with modern tow trucks in mind, and its distance from downtown means a shop visit eats up your day. We come to your driveway or carport instead.
